Research shows that 20 mins of exercise done at a high intensity is the equivalent of an hour of exercise done at moderate intensity. No time? No problem – you’ll need little of it to feel and look great! HIIT (high intensity interval training) involves short bursts of intense effort, followed by 20-30 seconds of rest. That’s right, no pre-recorded videos or generic routines. We all have different goals, body types and needs. There is no one size fits all.

Other fitness apps also claim to customize your workout, using terms like machine learning and artificial intelligence to make you think you’re getting a tailored experience. But technology only goes so far. It doesn’t know that you had a wild night and woke up with a hangover. Only a personal trainer, focused on you throughout your workout, can make real-time adjustments that help you be your best every single time.

 

NO EQUIPMENT REQUIRED. JUST YOUR PHONE (AND A MAT)

In most cases, your own body weight is enough. That’s another benefit of HIIT – whether you’re a total beginner or an elite athlete, the intensity can be dialed down or way up. Plus certain exercises and programs will only appear as you hit higher levels.

No equipment required doesn’t mean none allowed. If your trainer thinks you would benefit from adding additional resistance, s/he’ll tell you to go buy a kettlebell, pair of dumbbells or resistance bands and your workouts will adjust accordingly. Then if you’re away from home or don’t have it handy, just notify your trainer when you join your session and we’ll adjust your routine accordingly.

MOST CLIENTS ARE AT HOME BUT YOU CAN BE ANYWHERE

Smartphone cameras are amazing – lean your device against a water bottle at chair height, stand 6 feet / 2 meters back and your trainer will be able to see you head to foot. Now open your arms – that’s the total space required. Your entire workout will take place inside that box. So yes, even if you live in a studio apartment in NYC, you have enough room for Magic.

We recommend using Bluetooth earphones but if you’re in a quiet place, your phone’s speaker works just fine. And best of all, when you’re done all you have to do is peel off your sweaty clothes and hop in your very own shower. Forget about the locker room and gym commute!
