Your first session is free. If it meets your approval, we’ll give you another 4 sessions for just $1. Like most things in life, it’s important to build a habit and if you can complete 4-5 sessions in two weeks you’ll be well on your way to achieving your health and fitness goals.

If you’re not ready to jump in, have some doubts or just want to confirm that yes, it’s a real, live human, go ahead and book that first class anyway. Tell your trainer you have some questions and ask away. S/he’ll gladly show you some of the exercises, help you place your phone so you can test your space or chat with you about an old injury or a big hairy audacious goal.

How can personal training be so cheap?

The reality is that trainers get paid very little and gyms make a massive mark-up (see chart). Trainers are independent contractors and only get paid when they have a client, which explains the high-pressure sales tactic. They often wake up at 5am and get home after 10pm, but only work for a few hours during the morning and evening rush hours. In between they need to schedule existing clients, seek out new ones, plan upcoming workouts and of course travel to/from the gym or client’s home (a cost in both time and money). It’s a pretty brutal life: long hours, a constant hustle, lots of competition from new entrants, and little pay. No wonder 70% of trainers leave the profession every year.
