WE USE HIIT BECAUSE IT'S VERY EFFICIENT

Research shows that 20 mins of exercise done at a high intensity is the equivalent of an hour of exercise done at moderate intensity (if you want to read more, here are some articles). HIIT (high intensity interval training) is characterized by short bursts of intense effort offset by brief rest periods. In this way your heart rate remains elevated for the entire duration, which has all sorts of beneficial effects. This video from TIME magazine explains it best.

Every Magic session is live and 1-to-1 with a certified trainer. Your trainer is like a coach, friend or mentor with only your best interests at heart. S/he is watching you – and only you – the entire time: guiding, explaining and yes, sometimes providing the tough love that you need to push through. If you’ve ever used a trainer, you know what we’re talking about. And if not, you’ll be amazed how much you can achieve with a Magic trainer in your corner.

Magic sessions start with 5 mins of warm up and end with 5 mins of stretching and breathing – for a total of 30 mins. You’ll be amazed how much you accomplished with a certified trainer watching you the entire time – telling you what to do,  correcting your form, supporting you and motivating you when you need it most. You’ll feel strong and successful, confident and alive, and your goals will suddenly seem very much within reach.

Magic operates an end-to-end platform, meaning our trainers work out of one of our more than a dozen studios around the world. In this way, we can ensure a high quality connection, good sound and lighting and a professional experience every single time.

EVERY SESSION IS CUSTOMIZED AND BUILT JUST FOR YOU

That’s right, no pre-recorded videos or generic routines. We all have different goals, body types and needs. There is no one size fits all.

Your trainer provides both objective and subjective feedback. Took you 37 seconds to complete those ten pushups? How does that compare to other people of your age and fitness level? But technology only goes so far. It doesn’t know that you had a wild night and woke up with a hangover. So your trainer may adjust an exercise or give you a bit more rest, so you push through. Because a personal trainer – helps you be your best every single time.  

NO EQUIPMENT REQUIRED. JUST YOUR PHONE (AND A MAT)

In most cases, your own body weight is enough. That’s another benefit of HIIT – whether you’re a total beginner or an elite athlete, the intensity can be dialed down or way up. Plus certain exercises and programs will only appear as you hit higher levels.

No equipment required doesn’t mean none allowed. If your trainer thinks you would benefit from adding additional resistance, s/he’ll tell you to go buy a kettlebell, pair of dumbbells or resistance bands and your workouts will adjust accordingly. Then if you’re away from home or don’t have it handy, just notify your trainer when you join your session and we’ll adjust your routine accordingly.

MOST CLIENTS ARE AT HOME BUT YOU CAN BE ANYWHERE

Smartphone cameras are amazing – lean your device against a water bottle at chair height, stand 6 feet / 2 meters back and your trainer will be able to see you head to foot. Now open your arms – that’s the total space required. Your entire workout will take place inside that box. So yes, even if you live in a studio apartment in NYC, you have enough room for Magic.

We recommend using Bluetooth earphones but if you’re in a quiet place, your phone’s speaker works just fine. And best of all, when you’re done all you have to do is peel off your sweaty clothes and hop in your very own shower.
